A Culinary Guide to Japan
Chef Guided Tour

Come travel to Japan with a chef and former restaurant owner for a personally guided tour through the culinary scenes of Tokyo, Nagano and Yamanashi.  In this intimate group tour, discover the culinary side of Japan by visiting old temples for century old vegetarian cuisine, making sushi at the Tsukiji fish market, and learning to make soba noodles from scratch.  Sample whiskey, visit a wasabi farm in the Japanese Alps, and harvest vegetables from a farmhouse garden. This tour will give guests an ultimate, hands on, one of its kind experience.  You will see Tokyo as well as the countryside, a Japanese farmhouse, mountains, ride bullet trains and more.  We would love to see you there!

Tokyo Ramen Crash Course
Chef Guided Tour

This action packed 3 day tour is for the ramen enthusiast.  After this trip, you will learn from professionals all aspects of ramen making.  The tour is lead by Benjamin Smith, a chef who cooked ramen professionally for the last 10 years in the United States. The tour will start in Yokohama, a historic city south of Tokyo, and according to ramen expert Hiroshi Osaki, where the first specialized ramen shops opened in 1910. We will be taking classes at two different ramen schools, visit the ramen museum, and also go shopping at Kappabashi, which is almost entirely populated with shops supplying kitchen gadgets to restaurant owners and professional chefs.  Warning: You will be tasting lots of ramen during this tour.
